It was humid and a little rainy when Jared and Sicily woke up on their wildflower wedding day in Dahlonega, Georgia. He donned a blue linen suit and she put on her two piece wedding gown with lace cap sleeves (that twirled just so perfectly!) and they both watched out the window from their respective getting ready rooms as it began to sprinkle softly outside. The rain didn’t put a bit of a damper on their spirits, though, and the drops subsided just in time for their heartfelt festivities to begin!
One of my favorite moments of the day was Jared and Sicily’s First Look inside the little light filled chapel where they got married. From the outside, the wooden facade of the building matches the rustic, mountainous terrain that North Georgia is known for, but inside reveals a light and airy room filled with windows, soaring ceilings, and modern details. As Sicily walked down the aisle to tap her groom on the shoulder, the cloudy sky provided the most romantically soft light that filled the room! They embraced, he grinned, and she twirled to show off the swishy way her tulle skirted gown flows when she moves!
From the perfectly mismatched bridesmaids dresses, floral patterned groomsmen attire, and mini potted succulent wedding favors, to the dusty blue table linens and vintage gold and silver candlesticks at the reception, one thing was abundantly clear from this intimate wedding- this bride and groom have incredible style! Delicate wildflower wedding details were around every turn and added a relaxed ambience while also feeling incredibly elegant. The many wildflowers were also a sweetly subtle nod to the mountains where the couple said “I Do”. I was honored to assist Laura Barnes Photography in capturing this beautiful wedding day.
