On the top of a mountain, surrounded by their closest family and friends, Allie & Kris said “I Do” in a tear-filled ceremony against the soaring vista of the Blue Ridge mountains. There was something about this North Georgia wedding that felt almost ethereal in it’s ambience- maybe it was the lush forest-inspired botanicals filled with ferns and hellebores. Or the beaming bridesmaids who wore varying shades of lilac, floral, and eggplant. Or maybe just the effervescent joy that would burst from these two every time they looked at each other! Whatever it was, it was a tangible feeling of romance and happiness that carried everyone through the day!
One of my favorite aspects of this mountain wedding was the al fresco reception under a canopy of string lights that wrapped around onto a gorgeous back porch (so sweet and southern!). Neutral white and green florals filled the tables, and as the night went on, a cover of stars came out above us. Before long, we were sending off the newlyweds under a cascade of bubbles as the perfect conclusion to their meaningful day!
This whimsical wedding can also be seen on The Southeastern Bride where it was featured.
Allie & Kris incorporated two embroidered heirloom family handkerchiefs into the wedding day. Kris kept them in his jacket pocket so that whenever they had an emotional moment they could pull them out! Allie’s sapphire ring is also a family piece that acted as her Something Borrowed and Blue.
