A sleek crepe wedding dress with a keyhole back, a lakeside mountain wedding venue that’s more elegant than rustic, and a couple who adores each other more than anything in the world- three things that only just begin to describe the sweetness and beauty of Monica & Preston’s Waterfall Club wedding day! These two make their home in balmy Mobile, AL but they really wanted to bring their families together for a cozy winter wedding in the mountains. It was with this in mind that they chose The Waterfall Club just South of Highlands, North Carolina to say ‘I Do’! Their guests braved the cold for an outdoor ceremony on the covered overlook (the bride stayed warm with the help of her gorgeous fur wrap!) before heading into the lodge for cocktails, toasts, and a phenomenal band that the couple brought in from Atlanta.
Monica and Preston decided to forego a traditional wedding party, but that didn’t mean this bride didn’t have all her favorite girls help her get ready! They all looked beautiful throughout the morning in their matching turquoise floral robes.
Monica kept a piece of her late mother close by on her wedding day by wearing the heirloom bracelet that belonged to her. It was such a timeless and heartfelt tribute to the woman she knows was watching from Heaven.
A unique unity ceremony that Monica and Preston decided to incorporate was handfasting. Their officiant used multi-colored, symbolic ribbons to unite them in marriage.
